All of our coaches are British Gymnastics qualified at the appropriate level, and have been screened for their suitability to work with children.
Here's a breakdown of Honiton Gymnastics Club's coaching team:
High Performance Coaches (Level 5)
Helen Nayler
Emma Smith
James Reddy
Both Helen and Emma have been at the club since an early age and developed into elite gymnasts. They graduated as teachers from university, work full time as secondary school teachers, and each has seven years' coaching experience. Helen is head of performing arts at Ivybridge Community College. James is an ex-international acrobatic gymnast, with 16 years' coaching experience, and a category two international judge. He moved to Devon in 2007 and works full time as a marketing communications manager at Regen SW. Both Helen and James also work for British Gymnastics in coach education. Helen, Emma and James coach the Squad Acro 1 group.
Senior coach (level 4)

Pam is a truly dedicated club coach who has taught at the club for over 20 years. She oversees the development of the Club Acrobatics group, develops gymnasts that have been identified as having a high level of potential, and coaches the Squad Acro 2 group. Pam also works full time at Taunton hospital.
Coach (level 2)
Gemma Robertson
Gemma is an ex-gymnast who is in charge of the Competition Acro group and. She is a qualified fitness instructor, and works in the Met Office fitness suite.
Assistant Coach (level 1)
Nicki Salter
Alison Tutcher
Antony Bevis
Alongside Gemma, the above coaches train the Gym-Crazy Kids group. Nicki Salter is an ex-gymnast and works in a nursery, and Alison Tutcher is a Milliner who runs her own local business, Pop Goes the Weasel, and is a mother to gymnasts within the club. Antony is father to a gymnast in Squad Acro 1 and assists with the Gym-Crazy Kids sessions.

Educational opportunities
The club also provides gymnasts aged 14 and above with educational opportunities. Gymnasts are offered coaching and judging courses organised by British Gymnastics and UK Sport. Parents and guardians, if interested, are welcome to take courses and gain gymnastics coaching qualifications too. If you'd like to get invloed in any way, please speak to Helen Nayler.
