How to get started

It's easy to get started at Honiton Gymnastics Club.  We have entry levels for all abilities, so take a look below, and find out how you can get involved too.

Stage 1: How do I find out more?
 
Stage 1: How do I find out more? 
·         Visit the club, call Helen Nayler (07825 181 693), or email hnayler@hotmail.com
·         Watch from the Honiton Sports Centre balcony (if viewing is available) on Wednesday, Friday, or Saturday - see us in action!
·         Call the sports centre for class details (01404 42345)
·         Visit the coaches on Fridays or Saturdays. See the reception staff first and ask to speak to a gymnastics coach

Stage 2: How do I give it a go?
Choose a session to meet your level of ability (see below):        
·         Gym-Crazy Kids Group (beginner, aged 4 - 8 years)
·         Recreational Group (age 5 +)
·         Club Acrobatics Group (intermediate level, all ages of children, with some experience of recreational gymnastics that have fundamental gymnastics skills)
·         Acrobatics Squads (advanced level, all ages of children, who have mastered the basic skills and have competition experience)
 
Have a trial gymnastics training session (see below for times and days)
·         Gym-Crazy Kids Group - Monday and Friday at 5pm-6.30pm
·         Recreational Group - Wednesday and Friday 4.30pm-7pm and Saturday 9am-11 am or 9am-1pm
·         Club Acrobatics Group - Wednesday and Friday 4.30pm-7pm, and Saturday 9am-1pm
·         Acrobatics Squad - This group is spilt into two: 'Squad Acro 1' and 'Squad Acro 2'. All gymnasts at this level will have a trial session with the squad acro group in order for coaches to run assessments  
Stage 3: I want to go again - what do I do?
·         Speak to the coaches at the end of the trial session to discuss possible classes
·         See the receptionists and collect payment details
·         Decide, based on ability, which session(s) is most suitable
·         See the training times and sessions to decide when to attend
·         Wear the correct the clothing (as stated previously)
·         Spend 6 weeks 'having a go' 
 
Stage 4: I really enjoy gymnastics - can I come every week?
After 6 weeks of gymnastics training the following applies:
 
Gym-Crazy Kids group
·         Continue to train Monday and/or Fridays 5pm-6.30pm 
 

Recreational Group

 
Club Acrobatics Groups
·         Must train at least two sessions per week
·         Join Honiton Gymnastics Club, to include membership and insurance
·         Become a member of Honiton Sports Centre (see reception)
 
 
Squad Acro
·         Must train at least three sessions per week
·         Join Honiton Gymnastics Club to include membership and insurance
·         Become a member of Honiton Sports Centre (see reception)
 
Stage 5: How do I purchase Honiton Gym Club Clothing?
After eight weeks, all members are required to invest in club clothing, which comprises a tracksuit, leotard and polo shirt. Other clothing is also available. Please either see Helenclick here to see the range or here to download an order form.
